Managed by Knowsley Enterprise Academy, Ormside Education Centre offers schools and community groups from Knowsley and the North West the fantastic opportunity to experience and explore Appleby-in-Westmorland in the Eden Valley.
Focusing on outdoor education, we encourage, enable & develop the communication skills, team-work & confidence of those who visit as well as enhancing their own awareness & knowledge of this area of natural beauty & historical importance.

Nestled in the glorious Eden Valley, the village of Great Ormside provide the beautiful location for our Education Centre. Perfectly located between the Lake District & the Yorkshire Dales- rolling hills, glistening lakes & historical sites are on our doorstep.
A former railway station on the Settle to Carlisle line, the centre boasts amazing architectural design both inside & out. Having recently undergone a major refurbishment it currently compromises of 5 bedrooms (which can sleep up to 32 people), a self-catering kitchen, dining room & games room.
A second major project is currently underway at Ormside that will see a new-build extension added to the site, increasing capacity to up to 50 while providing brand new facilities for groups to utilise.
